Our January Coffee Morning welcomes Former Pupil Jim McDonald (1970) back to Heriot's. Jim has many fond memories of his time at school and after Heriot's he went on to be a researcher in the field of Ecophysiology working in Edinburgh, Sweden and Aberdeen before retiring in 2014.
Now a published author, Jim will be joining us to do a short poetry reading from his recently published poetry anthology, Crying for Kharkiv, written in support of the people of Ukraine in their current conflict with Russia and released by Pegasus Publishers in 2024.
All royalties go to the charity: Hope and Homes for Children/ Ukraine - Signed copies will be available on the day for £7.99, payment can be made by cash or card.
Taking place in the Council Room from 10am to 12pm please do come and join us. Jim will kindly hold a 20 minute reading during this time and will be happy to answer any questions you may have.
