Several of the Former Pupils visiting the school recently mentioned a mysterious mural they remembered being on the wall of the French classroom in the turret.
As the story goes, Head of French, Mr Nimmo, would push the chalk board aside on the last day of term to reveal a hidden mural painted on to the wall, much to the surprise of the pupils in his class. Whilst we had varying reports of Former Pupil's memories of this mural (everything from it containing a horse, to a mysterious figure in the foreground) a bit of investigation revealed that it was in fact a beautiful painting of two trees and several houses.
A bit of digging in the school archives revealed this image of the famous mural.
If you remember the mural too, let us know in the comments!
We are always delighted to have Former Pupils back to visit the School. If you would like to visit, please get in touch with the Development Team on dev@george-heriots.com.
