Heriot's from the Sky

Heriot's from the top of St Giles
Heriot's from the top of St Giles

The Development Team were delighted today to be sent a photo from Former Pupil, Alec Walker (1963) showing the School from a rather unsual vantage point.

In September of 1980, St Giles' Cathedral was undergoing some maintenance work and was covered in scaffolding. Spotting a once in a lifetime photo opportunity, Alec climbed to the very top of the scaffolding and took this spectacular picture!

43 years later and not much has changed for the building (aside from the models of cars in the car park!)

Got your own favourite photo of Heriot's? We would love to see it! Send them to dev@george-heriots.com and we'll share our favourites on the Hub.
