As today marks the start of the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris we take a look at some of our amazing Former Pupils who took their sporting prowess from Heriot's all the way to Olympic level.

The 2021 Tokyo Summer Olympics saw a trio of Heriot's Former Pupils play a major role in ensuring Team GB's rowing success. Harry Leask (2013) was part of the rowing quadruple sculls who won a silver medal with another Former Pupil Hamish Burrell (1983) coaching the GB Team that year.

There was also previous rowing success at the 2016 Rio Summer Oylmpics with Polly Swann (2006) winning a silver medal and also becoming a member of the first ever British women's eight boat to win an Olympic medal. Ben Helm (1982) also competed in the 1996 Atlanta Summer Olympics.

Success has also been seen in the Winter Olympics with Bruce Mouat (2012) winning a silver medal for curling at the 2022 Beijing Olympics.

We have been lucky enough to welcome Polly, Ben, Hamish and Bruce back to the school over the last year and it's been great to see them meet and inspire current pupils.
