Do you use languages in your place of work?
The Modern Languages department are looking to source potential partners for their biannual ‘Languages in Employability’ partnership programme. The programme, which will run over the course of the 2024-2025 academic session, aims to give pupils a “real life context” for how they may be able to utilise their language skills in their future career.
What would be involved?
We would like to compile a series of pre-recorded videos from each professional involved in the project, to talk about how languages are used in your job and how you got into your field of work. In addition, we would like to liaise with each professional to create an authentic task for pupils to complete, similar in style to the day-to-day tasks you would undertake. This task is carried out by pupils in their classes over several lessons and is overseen by class teachers. Finally, once the tasks are complete, we would like to invite you to judge the tasks. Please note, the judging can be done over email.
Can I particpate remotely?
Yes! All videos can be recorded remotely and the judging can be carried out over email.
How do I get involved?
Just send an email to dev@george-heriots.com
Please respond by Friday 6 September 2024.
