Congratulations are in order for Former Pupil Brian Henderson (1970), as he presents his remarkable exhibtion Eye Line at Morningside Gallery.
The exhibtion is the latest in what has been an oustanding career for artist Brian Henderson. After leaving Heriot's in 1970, Brian was educated at Edinburgh College of Art, before becoming an Art Teacher on Shetland. After returning to Edinburgh, Brian began to exhibit his work as a painter. His photo-realist paintings proved extremely popular and have been exhibited, and collected, across Britain and abroad.
Focusing on eye-level, still-life arangements, his work often features models of whimsical, childhood characters inclduing Tin-Tin and Mickey Mouse.
Brian also continues to carry on the Heriot's tradition of Distributing Cheerfullie. His most recent exhibition included an online auction of a painting he donated to raise funds for Jeeps for Peace; a local charity working to support the relief effort in Ukraine. Jeeps for Peace provide critical supplies of food and medicine, evacuate civilians in danger and retrieve wounded soldiers from the front-line.
Eye- Line can be viewed at the Morningside Gallery until 30th November.
