The Development Team is pleased to announce a special Tribute Dinner to be held to honour the life of former Physics teacher and Master of Rowing Bob Neill. The event will be held in school on Friday 6 October 2023.
Tickets will be on sale from Friday 19 May via the Herioter Hub.
This will be an evening to honour Bob Neill, to recognise his impact on rowing at Heriot’s, in Scotland, and on the wider rowing landscape.
Bob Neill was Head of Physics and Master of Rowing at George Heriot's for 37 years. His face was a regular presence at rowing events in Scotland, even after he retired. His legacy continues with the ongoing success of Heriot's Rowing Club, with 4 pupils gaining full rowing scholarships in America over the last 3 years alone, a huge acheivement with just one dedicated rowing coach.
All money raised through ticket sales and donations will go towards a new quad boat named in honour of Bob and to create a rowing pathway for the school; securing its continuing status as one of Scotland’s centres of rowing excellence.
The Tribute Evening will feature a fabulous champagne reception followed by a three-course dinner. There will be an auction, an exhibition of rowing at George Heriot’s School, plus plentiful rowing and physics talk!
Guest attendees and speakers from the world of rowing and Heriot’s will be announced on Friday 12 May.
