Thank you to all those who attended this special event last Friday evening. We hope it was a fitting celebration to the rowing legacy of Bob Neill and it was a wonderful opportunity to welcome so many Former Pupils, Current Parents, and the wider rowing community back to Heriot’s.
You will be pleased to learn that your extremely generous donations and competitive auction bidding on the evening raised a fantastic £47,605.00, enough to fund the new Quad Boat, eight blades and carriage from Germany, ready on the water for the coming Regatta season. There are also sufficient funds to establish rowing scholarships for Bursary and Foundation pupils. This important outcome enables the school to continue Bob’s rowing legacy, reflecting the central pillar of philanthropy which has run through George Heriot’s School for 400 years and deliver our founder’s vision of the transformative power of education.
If you would like to watch the rowing video that was showcased on the night this can be viewed here.
The fundraising campaign for Rowing will remain open for the remainder of 2023, to allow the opportunity for further donations from across the rowing community. If you would like to support the campaign, please click here and select the Bob Neill Tribute Campaign when making a donation.
Thank you again for your generous support: it is very much appreciated.
