Life long Learning

Norman and Kassandra
Norman and Kassandra

We had the genuine pleasure of touring the Quad' with Former Pupil Norman Leslie (1963) last week.

Norman was accompanied by his German Tutor Kassandra as he retold stories of his time at school and explained much of Heriot's long history to his tutor, all very impressively in fluent German. We all had a very interesting conversation about how satisfying lifelong learning can be and Norman commented this was inspired by his time as a Heriot's pupil.

Norman told us of memories of ball games, sweet shops through the vennel, where spending was discouraged in favour of the school tuck-shop which needed to make money for the school, and he recalled his not so fond memories of the liver served to the pupils in the original refectory.

If you are keen to return to the school, for a tour please get in touch with the Development Team and we would be happy to arrange this on your behalf. Please email dev@george-heriots.com

If you would prefer the opportunity to catch up and network with other Herioters at one of our newly launched Coffee Mornings held once a month in the Council Room. please visit this link to book for free.
