Former Pupil News |
It was wonderful to welcome Richard Hunter (1986) back to school on Tuesday for a brief trip down memory lane.
Richard is based in London and came up to visit his mother, who used to work in the Heriot's Trust Office.
Richard's contribution to the Book of Memories is a wonderful one:
We were asked a while ago by the alumni association to choose the phrase that spoke of what Heriot's meant to us. I don't think I had a very good answer, but I have a slightly better one now. Looking back, today's me knows how lucky I was to be there and how different a world it opened up for me. Back then, I never felt out of place, not for a minute, even as a quiet wee soul who just 'got along'.I suspect Jinglin' Geordie would like to hear his school created a culture that could do just than, 400 years on'.
Thank you Richard for making the time to visit: you are a golden soul.
