Last week we had the privilege of being joined back on to campus after 60 years, Prof Rennie McElroy (1963).
Rennie joined us from Leith Academy in 1963 and enjoyed his time at Heriot's hugely.
Rennie thoroughly enjoyed reminiscing as we visited a few memorable teachers’ classrooms notably; Mr Abercrombie's French class in the SW Turret and Mr Heron's on the NW Top Turret.
Rennie had a very enjoyable and successful career as Chief Librarian at Napier University for the duration of his working life. He saw his department grow over this time from a handful of employees to over 100 when he retired.
On campus, he relished the opportunity to talk to Heriot's Librarian and Archivist Ms Sharp who showed him current school practices.
Rennie, it was an absolute pleasure to meet and speak with you, please come back soon.
