Dr Norman Irons CBE., DL
4th January 1941 – 26th November 2023
A memorial service will be held at: 11am on Thursday 22nd February 2024 at St Giles Cathedral.
Everyone is welcome.
Dr Irons' daughter Elizabeth explained he knew he could not be saved from the ravages of Parkinson’s but wanted to help others. In his final act of selflessness, only a few weeks before his death, he consented to donate his brain to the Imperial College Brain Bank, which is researching the cause of, and seeking to find treatments for Parkinson’s.
In support of his final wish, there will be a collection at the conclusion of the service in aid of Parkinson’s research.
