Current Pupils from the Heriot's Pipes & Drums Band recently played by the gravesides of Former Pupils Alexander Ellacott (1912) and Frederick Lawrence (1893).

Private Alexander Ellacott, of Dalkeith, was killed in action on 6th October 1917, in Ypres, West Flanders, Belgium and is buried is Poelkapelle.

Private Frederick Lawrence, of Leith, killed in action on 19th June 1917, in Ypres, West Flanders, Belguim and buried at Perth Cemetery China Wall.

The pupils are keen to find out more about these men who both lost their lives during WW1.

Whilst we have some limited information on both men, the Pupils are particularly keen to know if there are any family members still in Edinburgh. If you can help with any further information, do let us know via the development office on dev@george-heriots.com
