In a little over 2 weeks a mighty team of 6 Heriot's Staff including the Principal will be cycling the 400-mile distance from Gladsmuir, East Lothian, the birthplace of George Heriot, to St Martins-in-the-Field in London, where it is believed George Heriot is buried.
This epic undertaking will cover four days of cycling to commemorate the 400-year anniversary of the publication of George Heriot's Will and his legacy of philanthropy. It is hoped that former pupils and parents will consider sponsoring the cyclists or offering to match fund to make their efforts really count.
All monies raised on this epic ride will go towards the We Are All George Heriot campaign which seeks to extend Heriot's vision of harnessing the transformative powers of education by raising £98'640 for new six-year bursary places at the School.
