Our intrepid team assembled in school at 7am this morning before the short trip to Gladsmuir and the start of their marathon cycle ride to London. Stomachs may have been churning but fortitude prevailed in their faces.
After the short trip to Gladsmuir, School pipers Sandy Ferguson (S4) and Lorne McIntyre (S1) piped the bikers off from Gladsmuir Church, on their onward journey towards brighter skies once they have passed under the grey cloud enveloping the Lothians just now.
Today's journey involves up to 12 hours pedalling, ending in Hexham later today. We will keep you posted on their progress.
Thank you to everyone who has supported this campaign to raise much needed funds for the new 6-year bursaries at George Heriot's School, as part of this year's We Are All George Heriot campaign.
